The Future's So Bright.....

This is Tokyo Disneyland's Space Mountain.....a nice bright white. Fortunately, it was never painted the lovely shade of green and brown that Anaheim's was. Tokyo has also retained the covered Speed Ramp at the entrance to their attraction. After all, didn't the Jetsons teach us that the future was all about moving sidewalks? Not only did Anaheim remove their covered Speed Ramp at the entrance, they also removed the one at the exit and repaced it with stairs. How's that for progress?

The attraction poster below is one of many that are on display just inside the entrance to the park. The structure reflected in the glass (the one that the spaceship looks like it's landing on), is actually the roof over the turnstiles at the entrance. Tokyo's Space Mountain recently went through a major remodel and the attraction poster got updated as well. The previous attraction poster was almost identical to Anaheim's 1977 version.

SPEEDRAMP! There are never ever enough speedramps. Long live the speedramp - long live it.
