Dave, I was thinking the same thing! She is the one that inspired my love of makeup. Can you imagine me at 13 with those Cleopatra eyes??? And my father didn't say anything about it????

Yeah, I thought they seemed a little exaggerated too! I'll have to look for an older photo or postcard to see if they were always that big. They might have swapped her head with another figure's body in the later years. These were taken in October of 2005, the last month that Movieland Wax Museum was in operation.

Wax museums are SO strange. I wonder if that costume actually resembles anything from "Cleopatra"? And yet... the tackiness of it all is part of the appeal to me, if you know what I mean!

Major, Some of the figures in Movieland Wax Museum were wearing copies of the costumes from the films and in some cases, they were wearing the actual costumes (Sophia Loren, for example). I really don't know about the Elizabeth Taylor figure though....and I haven't seen the film!

i always think that the wax figures look cross-eyed. that is the hardest feature to get right, i think....

I saw your comment on Daveland's blog... I think I have a pinback button from Liz's birthday party at Disneyland; but I'll be damned if I can find it at the moment...

I remember as a twelve year old boy, staring at this one, and Sophia Loren, and Brigitte Bardot, until my folks dragged us along.
