The large sculpture above is located just inside the entrance to Mermaid Lagoon. Behind it is a winding ramp that leads down into the indoor section. When guests look over the railing in the photo above (and then look straight down), they can see down into Ariel's Playground on the lower level.
Pictured above and below, is the Sleepy Whale Shoppe. The whale's eyeball moves around and the eyelid closes and opens (only about halfway, hence the name "sleepy" whale). The interior roof contains a rib cage and even a uvula! There are also various pieces of salvage throughout the shop, some of which makes up the shelving for the merchandise.
The photo below shows some of the incredible detail to this indoor area of the park. To the left, is the Blowfish Balloon Race attraction. This ride is similar to Flik's Flyers in Anaheim.
