These weren't amateur costumes. These were official costumes, the ones Disney makes for their "walk-around" characters in the park.TokyoMagic!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16340756514811789233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440013033477237104.post-77803936995524234352011-10-13T20:58:41.817-07:002011-10-13T20:58:41.817-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.TokyoMagic!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16340756514811789233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440013033477237104.post-3241389282634372242011-10-13T18:49:23.815-07:002011-10-13T18:49:23.815-07:00where do you get the fabric from? I had to wait until it was re-released in 1982 to see if for the first time.TokyoMagic!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16340756514811789233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440013033477237104.post-79800729875621855312010-11-14T14:01:24.047-08:002010-11-14T14:01:24.047-08:00Very detailed post. Yet, Tokyo you drew me in with your photo comparisons and text. That would be really cool to see Copper and Todd characters walking around the park....and maybe a Big Mama and Widow Tweed, too.

Cory, that does sound like a rather random grouping of Disney characters....weird!

Anonymous, thank you for the information. When I was in Fantasy On Parade in 1981, both Baloo and Little John were used in the parade. I had always thought their heads were both from the same "mold", but I just checked a photo of Baloo and can see that their faces are different. Thanks again for pointing that out!TokyoMagic!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16340756514811789233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440013033477237104.post-24122757378623880252010-11-13T00:24:12.991-08:002010-11-13T00:24:12.991-08:00The Little John costume was never the same as the ...The Little John costume was never the same as the Baloo costume. The Little John costume was/is actually a lot taller than Baloo. Dubbed the "mondo condo," the costume uses a back brace and the performer sees out of the neck, whereas Baloo's performer screen was just under his mouth and the head sat on the performer's shoulders. I would say Little John was a good 6 inches taller - maybe a foot. He is huge.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440013033477237104.post-66295489184304659622010-11-12T22:10:49.455-08:002010-11-12T22:10:49.455-08:00I actually saw Friar Tuck in Disneyland USA 2006. ...I actually saw Friar Tuck in Disneyland USA 2006.
