When I was in the DL Christmas Parade, we rehearsed by doing our routine around the parade warehouse backstage. When we would get around to that side of the building, we would have an "audience" of people peeking over the fence watching us.TokyoMagic!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16340756514811789233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440013033477237104.post-42621719178343852015-06-09T21:01:13.021-07:002015-06-09T21:01:13.021-07:00Great post, TM!

My sister and I climbed the playground equipment and looked over the wall to see the giant bald eagle float from "America on Parade" sitting in a backstage parking area. My dad was interested enough that he climbed up to take a look with us. But did any of us take a picture? Of course not.Chuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01836717368846566211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440013033477237104.post-63997105316555986922015-06-09T12:01:40.519-07:002015-06-09T12:01:40.519-07:00Major, I was given my first camera when I was in ...Major, I was given my first camera when I was in fifth grade and I've loved taking pictures ever since. Pretty early on, I learned that you better take pics of things because they may not be there tomorrow! That goes for Disneyland and Knott's attractions, but also applies to older buildings and people too!

And you are absolutely correct. According to that article (the second pic), the Monorail was "mounted on a 40-foot long stretched Chevy truck chassis" and had an automatic transmission.TokyoMagic!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16340756514811789233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2440013033477237104.post-7305546304839868372015-06-09T03:37:36.817-07:002015-06-09T03:37:36.817-07:00Very neat post, TokyoMagic! I recall so many neat things that I've seen over the years and wish I pictures of them now. Oh well. I wonder if the Mouseorail was basically just placed on a truck (or bus?) chassis. I doubt they would have gone *too* crazy spending money for something complicated, but a large vehicle chassis would be a relatively simple solution.Major Pepperidgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09843598326995116014noreply@blogger.com
